10-12-2006: Chevrolet Celebrates 40th Anniversary Of Country Music Association Awards With 3Rd Annual "Chevy - Year In Country Music" Calendar

2007 Calendar shot on location in and around Nashville pairs country's biggest names and hottest rising stars with Chevy's most popular cars and trucks

DETROIT – After a trip last year to the Big Apple for the 2005 Country Music Association Awards, Chevrolet is celebrating the CMAs’ return home to Nashville with the annual “Chevy – Year in Country Music” calendar shot at landmarks in and around Nashville in conjunction with the CMA Music Festival in June.

“Chevy and country music both have deep, strong roots in America and Chevrolet has been a longtime sponsor of the Country Music Association Awards,” said Kim Kosak, Chevrolet general director of advertising and sales promotion. “The country music calendar is a celebration of the CMAs’ 40 th anniversary and a great way to showcase Chevy’s cars and trucks while connecting with country music fans.”

The 3 rd annual calendar, shot by photographer Ron Strong, features both established and rising country music stars paired with Chevrolet’s hottest vehicles with an emphasis on Chevy trucks – particularly the all-new 2007 Silverado.

Country music stars and Chevy vehicle pairings include:

“When Chevrolet asked me to be a part of their 2007 country music calendar, I said, ‘Hell, yes! As long as I can pose with the new Silverado,’” said Gretchen Wilson, who is nominated for “Female Vocalist of the Year ” for the 40th annual CMA Awards. “The truck, the WSM radio tower in Nashville and a celebration of 40 years of country music – what more can a woman want.”

The 2007 calendar features a “40 Big Ones” list each month, a nod to the 40 th anniversary of the Country Music Association Awards. Each list’s top 5 entries are showcased in the calendar and the complete top 40 lists will be available at chevymusic.com beginning October 17. The lists feature the top 40 radio stations, country music venues, country movie connections, most downloaded country songs, CMA singles of the year, country music landmarks, country “driving songs,” country music themes, CMA albums of the year, country musicians, Country Music Hall of Fame® artists and touring bands.

The scheduled 3.2-million copy distribution of the 3 rd annual calendar will be available in newsstand and subscriber copies of Country Weekly (on sale October 23), ProgressiveFarmer (October 27) and People (November 3), and for the first time, in NASCAR Illustrated (October 17).
